Strong earthquake shakes buildings in Kuwait

A 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck Erbil near the Iraq/Iran border, according to the US Geological Survey on 12 November. Residents were thrown into a panic in their homes as buildings shook under the effects. Eyewitnesses on social media state that they immediately vacated their apartments in fear of aftershocks, and many claimed that they felt tremors in their apartments, where objects moved and fell down.

There are no reports of damage or injuries. Many twitter users experienced disbelief at the strength of the earthquake, that was also felt across Iraq, Iran, UAE, Dubai and Lebanon.
