Sulaibiya sewage plant extolled

Director General of the Environment Public Authority (EPA) Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah praised here on Sunday the technology applied within the sewage treatment plant in Sulaibiya plant, describing it as "distinctive and pioneering".

Sheikh Abdullah said in a press statement after an inspection tour of the plant that it has proven itself as one of the leading and distinctive plants in the world in the use of reverse osmosis technology and purification of sewage.

He added that the station can accommodate more than 425,000 cubic meters since the start of operation in 2004, expecting to reach 600,000 cubic meters gradually during the investment period over 30 years.

He explained that Kuwait is today one of the advanced countries in the field of sewage treatment, adding that he became acquainted with the entire operations in the plant.
