The English Madrasa for Islamic Studies’ Elects new PTA bearers

‘The English Madrasa for Islamic Studies’ run by the Educational wing of KIG Kuwait elected its first PTA bearers for the academic year 2014 in the PTA gathering and Award Ceremony that took place on the 15th of February 2014 at Darul Quran, Salmiya.

In the function that was presided over by the Principal P. Sameer Mohammed, a committee consisting of 12 members was nominated by the parents. These 12 members gathered in a closed door meeting chaired by the Principal and elected the new PTA office bearers for the next 2014 academic year. Mr. Bilal Mohammed Abdelrahim was elected as the PTA president who is an American and works as a Technical Senior Manager with Core Enterprises Solutions. He is a certified PMP/ITIL IT Engineer.

Mr. Firdous Ahmed a Pakistani National working with Kuwait Finance House as an Assistant Manager – Internal Audit Department, was elected as the PTA Secretary. Holder of B.Sc. in Mathematics and Statistics and another B.Sc. in Applied Accounting is an Account/Audit professional with an ACCA (UK), CRMA (USA) and CIA (USA).

Mr. Jawid Shahna, a Civil Engineer hailing from India was elected as the PTA Treasurer. With more than 15 years in Kuwait, he works with Kuwait Oil Company in the capacity of Civil Design Engineer. Mrs. Zahida Farooq assisted by Mrs. Yasmin Kaja are the PTA Arts Convener. Mrs. Sheeba Chawdary assisted by Mrs. Fasliya Rahim are the PTA conveners for sports activities.

Other members of the PTA committee are Mr. Awwab Nadir, Mr. Parvez Hanif, Mr. Syed Ishhaq Mrs. Ruhin Fakih, and Mrs. Zaheeda Tabassum. The new PTA President Mr. Bilal addressed the gathering and requested the support of the parents and the Madrasa management in order to carry out his new role to the best of his abilities.

Wishing the new office bearers all success and support from the Madrasa management, the function ended with the vote of thanks by the head of Quran Department Mr. Ridwan.
