Thousands throng churches in prayer ... in peace
December 25, 2014, 8:54 am
Worshippers attend the traditional Christmas Eve Mass at the Holy Family Cathedral in downtown Kuwait.

Thousands of the faithful thronged the Holy Family Cathedral in downtown Kuwait City and several other churches all over Kuwait to herald the birth of child Jesus. Braving the cold weather, people prayed for peace in the heart of this conservative Muslim state - a haven for religious tolerance.

The atmosphere at the Holy Family Cathedral was one of warmth and happy feeling and an occasion to spread good cheer and celebrate our love with family, friends and fellow human beings at a time when winds of war blowing from all directions carry hatred for each other especially in this part of the world where terrorist attacks and senseless wars have made people homeless and left behind a trail of innocent victims — children, women and the elderly.
