Two Egyptian expatriates were separately arrested at Kuwait International Airport in possession of large quantities of narcotic pills.

According to security sources, customs officers at Kuwait International Airport, after receiving directives from the Airport Controller of Customs Sulaiman Al-Fahad to intensify surveillance on travelers, apprehended an Egyptian expatriate who arrived at around 1:00 am carrying 30,000 pills, which he had concealed inside a bag.

He was immediately referred with the drugs to the concerned authorities. After almost six hours of the first arrest, the officers arrested another Egyptian expatriate who tried to smuggle 20,000 Tremadol pills into the country. He had tied the drugs to his legs using cloth pieces but his efforts turned futile. He has been referred for prosecution.
