Civil Service Commission (CSC) has not approved granting bonuses to civilians working in Ministry of Interior equivalent to bonuses between KD 200 and KD 360 provided to military officials, reports Al-Anba daily quoting informed sources.

They revealed that the Ministers Council has instructed the concerned authorities to take necessary measures for disbursement of merit rewards equivalent to two years salary to officers of ranks Major General, Brigadier and Colonel who retired between July 1, 2004 and August 27, 2008 from Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defense, National Guard and Kuwait Fire Service Directorate.

They explained that the merit rewards must be equivalent to two years salary as per Law 495/2008, provided the concerned employee spent 25 years in service, adding that employees who served for lesser period will receive lesser merit reward.
