150 cases of child abuse under scrutiny

Dr. Mona Al-Khawari, Director of Child Protection Office at the Ministry of Health said 150 cases of child abuse have been referred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, most of them against parents, reports Al- Qabas daily.

Al-Khawari told the daily, most of the cases include sexual assaults and emotional neglect. She disclosed the office has also received 60,000 calls for different types of consultations from multiple age groups.
