The Municipal Council has been asked to amend Article 12 of the resolution on camping procedures that had increased insurance fees on camping sites. The committee supervising camping procedures had in an earlier resolution raised the insurance on camping sites to KD300 per 1,000 square meters.
Head of the Jahra committee at the Municipal Council Ahmed Hadayyan has now demanded amending the resolution in order to reduce the insurance amount to KD100 per 1,000 square meters and to refund the amount after removing the camp and cleaning the site.
Speaking at a workshop held to discuss camping locations in Jahra, Hadayyan said representatives from the Environment Public Authority (EPA) did not attend the workshop despite its vital role in protecting the environment at campsites. He added the workshop also discussed allocating locations for entrepreneurs at these sites.
