Water pipes burst causing flooding and damage to the roof and area of a restaurant located at the Kuwait Towers, yesterday at about 10:30 am.
As a precautionary measure, the staff was evacuated through the emergency staircase due to the elevators being unsafe as the water also seeped into them. Acting on information, firemen and other concerned personnel rushed to the spot and fixed the faults.
The explosion in the pipes caused partial damage to the ceiling and also damaged the elevators. According to an informed source, the preliminary inspection shows the pipes could not withstand the pressure of water for an unknown reason, and the cause is being investigated.
