Confusion surrounding the entry of Indians and some other Asian nationalities has been further clarified after Kuwait International Airport (KIA) published a clarification regarding passengers coming from banned countries (India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Nepal). Expats traveling from these countries must stay in a third country for a period of not less than 14 days before they arrive in Kuwait.

KIA clarified the following travel requirements for Non-Kuwaiti passengers with valid visas/residence, except the Article 20 visa category.

If Vaccinated –  Passengers must stay in another country for 14 days before they arrive in Kuwait and are subjected to 7 days institutional quarantine in  Kuwait.

If they wish to end the quarantine, they must conduct one PCR  test during their quarantine in Kuwait, if the result is negative, the scheduled institutional quarantine period will be ended.

Whereas passengers traveling through other countries can enter Kuwait directly and are subject to 7 days home quarantine in Kuwait.

Not vaccinated expatriates are not allowed to enter Kuwait. 

This restriction does not apply to Passengers with exceptional entry approval from the Council of Ministers and Article 20 visa holders.

Clarification for passengers holding Article 20 visa

Vaccinated expat with article 20 arriving from banned countries must stay in another country for 14 days before they arrive in Kuwait and subject to 7 days institutional quarantine in Kuwait.

If they wish to end the quarantine, they must conduct one  PCR test during their quarantine in  Kuwait, if the result is negative, the scheduled institutional quarantine period will be ended.

Whereas vaccinated visa 20 holders, if traveling from or arriving from non-banned countries can enter Kuwait directly, and are subject to 7 days home quarantine in Kuwait.

If they wish to end the quarantine, they must conduct one  PCR test during their quarantine in  Kuwait, if the result is negative, the scheduled home quarantine period will be ended.

Registration on Belsalamah is not required for vaccinated article 20 visa holders.

Non-vaccinated Visa 20 holders must stay in another country for 14 days, before they arrive in Kuwait, and are subject to 14 days institutional quarantine in Kuwait through the Belsalamah package.

However, non-vaccinated Visa 20 holders arriving from non-banned countries can enter Kuwait directly, subject to 14 days institutional quarantine in Kuwait through the Belsalamah package.

Belsalamah Registration is required for all non-vaccinated article 20 visa holders.
