The Public Relations Department of Kuwait Municipality announced that bachelors had been evicted from 119 houses located in private residential areas after the properties were first given notices and then had their electricity cut off.

The ‘bachelor eviction’ campaign by the Municipality, in coordination with the ministries of Justice,  Interior, Electricity and Water, and the Public Authority for Civil Information (PAC, began in earnest in mid-July.

Since then, inspectors from the municipality have been visiting houses in private residential areas where bachelors were suspected to be staying and issuing notices to the owners. A total of 558 houses have so far been earmarked as part of the campaign, and the inspections and evictions would continue, said a municipality spokesman.

The eviction department highlighted the keenness of Kuwait Municipality to respond to complaints that are received through the hotline set up on telephone number 139 or through the department’s social media accounts.
