An Excellence in School Sports Awards ceremony was held at the Crown plaza’s magnificent Al Andalus Ball Room to recognize students from various schools who excelled in sports activities. Children received their trophies to the applause of kids, parents and teachers from their respective schools.

A total of twenty-four nominated students received the awards for their excellence in various sports activities and admirable attributes like the value of discipline, teamwork and commitment.

Fantasy World in collaboration with City pages sponsored this award ceremony to encourage students to participate in sports, and highlight the belief that kids involved in physical fitness leads to mental fitness.  By awarding them for their sporting excellence, Fantasy World hopes to push children to move away from sedentary pastimes to enjoy more physical activities and encourage healthy competition among kids. The Excellence in School Sports Awards acknowledged those schools that encourage kids to take part in sports and promote the importance of physical health.

Such encouragement is the biggest and best platform for kids to excel in sports and live an active, healthy life.

Harvey Dulku, the retail Director of Fantasy World said that he is proud to bring in the Excellence in School Sports Awards and thanked those parents who continue to support their kids by setting examples and reinforcing the benefits of physical exercise. “The number of obese people in the world total approximately 2.1 billion, which makes up about 30% of the total population. The worldwide obesity rate has tripled since 1975 and is a big concern, Fantasy World promotes and believes in supporting any sort of welfare of Kids. Physical fitness and eating habits all can affect the well-being in children. FantasyWorld hopes to get the children out playing and consequently the fitness & wellbeing will follow,” he added.

Four Schools that were chosen and Awarded for their excellent contribution in pushing their students to take up sports activities (in alphabetic order) were – Dasman Bilingual School, GHARS Bilingual School, Gulf English School and New English School. Another co-sponsor of the Awards, Crowne Plaza, shared the vision of positivity and health, a culture they strive to promote and achieve at their luxury Kuwait hotel.

Taking about the award function, Burhan Abdul Malik, from the Marketing Team of Fantasy World stated, “This is just the beginning, we hope to see more schools participating in next year’s Awards resulting in a bigger and better competition among children. This would mean more schools promoting sports activities and more children getting involved in sports and therefore physical activities and physical fitness. A healthy Future and a healthy Kuwait.
