All expats who left the country from 1 September, 2019 are allowed to return to Kuwait provided that they have a valid residency visa, regardless if they have been outside the country for more than six months, according to a decision issued by the Ministry of Interior (MoI).

All airlines operating at the Kuwait International Airport were given instructions to that effect.

Expats from the 34 country ban list are permitted entry after spending a 14-day quarantine period in countries not on the banned list. The 34 country ban list remains in effect until further notice.

Kuwait International Airport is still in the first phase of the operational plan for resumption of commercial flights at 30 percent capacity, a total of 100 arrival and departure flights per day in line with health requirements. This comes as several European countries took measures to prevent the second wave of the coronavirus and some airports are on the verge of closure.

Until the health authorities receive new instructions, the first-phase plan will continue until January 31, 2021, and the airport authorities are committed to all recommendations and decisions issued by the Ministry of Health. The number of flights to and from Europe is 80 per day – 40 departures and 40 arrivals.
