Expats allowed to travel to the country from 21 February

Expats are once again permitted to enter the country from next Sunday, 21 February, and are expected to stay at institutional quarantine in a local hotel for a week at their expense, health officials revealed to Al-Qabas daily.

However, no news has been forthcoming regarding any new procedures for allowing the entry of expats from the 35 country ban list from where people are prohibited from entering Kuwait directly without staying for 14 days in a transit country.

According to the officials, the nationals of the prohibited countries continue to be required to spend time in a third country not on the ban list for 14 days before heading to Kuwait, where they will be subject, upon arrival, to institutional quarantine in a hotel for a week at their own expense, followed by a home quarantine for a week.

They said that a PCR test certificate is required for those arriving from abroad, with a 72 hours validity period from the date of taking the sample to the date of boarding the plane, in addition to reserving a local hotel on the Kuwait Mosafer app before travelling to the country for institutional quarantine, and to undergo a PCR test as well, at Kuwait Airport.

Regarding the decision to reduce the number of arriving passengers onboard flights, an informed source in the Civil Aviation told Al-Qabas that the number of arrivals currently is still limited to 1000 arrivals per day, and it is expected to continue after February 21 until further notice.
