We have all heard stories about prisons in Kuwait where prisoners freely pedal drugs, where mobile phone usage is at such high rates that telecom companies are probably considering opening  kiosks for vending recharge cards, and fast food chains can expect to begin ‘jail-delivery’ soon.

But just when you thought you had heard it all about prison life in Kuwait, two female prisoners in the Central Prison have been ‘arrested’ and referred to the Sulaibiya Police Station for allegedly assaulting a female prison guard.

The incident reportedly happened when the prison authorities were conducting a search of prisoner cells. The two inmates allegedly objected to the search and started screaming hysterically before attacking the police-woman. Other police staff soon came to the aid of their colleague and took the attackers into custody. The injured police-woman was admitted to Farwaniya Hospital with injuries and abrasions to her body.
