Fire-fighters at the Farwaniya fire station were called to the scene after a fire broke out in an eight-story building in Khaitan. Backup from Subhan fire station and technical rescue units also arrived in support of the Farwaniya crew. The building was evacuated and no casualties were reported. Nine people who suffered minor injuries were treated on-site by paramedics.
Meanwhile, firemen from the Doha fire station along with technical rescue units were called into action after five juveniles got stuck in the mud in Doha area.
