The French embassy issued a statement announcing that Ambassador Anne Claire Legendre tested positive for the Coronavirus after she received the test results on February 10, 2021, Al Rai daily reported.

The statement read, “The ambassador immediately isolated herself, and all those who came in contact during the last 10 days were informed in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in accordance with the protocol. The French embassy has taken all necessary precautionary measures to place all its employees in isolation, pending the test results that will be conducted in accordance with the health recommendations.”

The embassy was reassured of the health of Ambassador Anne-Claire Legendre. According to the daily the ambassador had met a number of officials and personalities, and toured several sites in the past few days, noting that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed those whom the ambassador came into contact with of her infection with the Coronavirus and advised them to take the necessary precautions and follow-up.
