The Ambassador of France to Kuwait H.E. Marie Masdupuy hosted a networking ceremony in honor of Kuwaiti graduates from universities in France, at the embassy premises on 18 November. Speaking to the gathering, Ambassador Masdupuy expressed her happiness on meeting with Kuwaiti graduates in various scientific fields from universities in France. She highlighted the importance of building a network of graduates from France in Kuwait, as they have gained considerable understanding of the country from their unique experience of studying in France.

She pointed out the ceremony is the first networking event to encourage communication between the Kuwaitis who have studied in France. She also added that the Kuwait Ministry of Higher Education was in the process of finalizing the list of recognized schools in Kuwait where students can study French as a foreign language.

Assistant Foreign Minister for the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister office Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, who was the special guest at the ceremony, praised the historic and longstanding ties between Kuwait and France. He thanked the French Ambassador for her initiative in bringing together graduates of French universities in Kuwait, which he hoped would be the start of other such gatherings in the future.

Noting that the study of French language in Kuwait has grown in recent years, he clarified that the basis for learning of any language is to connect with the people and the country of origin. He added that the educational aspect of French study cannot be gleaned only through books, but by interacting with the French people to understand various aspects of their life.
