The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) Kuwait Chapter conducted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) along with a Continuing Educational Program (CPE) exclusively for the benefit of its members.

CA Sai Devata was elected as the new Chairman of the Kuwait Chapter for the year 2019-20 and takes over from CA Noel Cherian. The evening began with a welcome address by CA Noel followed by a short video of all the activities and events conducted during the last year. CA Noel then welcomed the new Chairman C A Sai Devata to take over and formally introduce his team.

The newly elected chairman then delivered the chairman’s message and officially introduced the new team and articulated the vision and strategy to be adopted in the next one year including the events lined up for the year ahead. He also welcomed CA Kaizar Shakir as Vice chairman, CA Deepak Bindal as Secretary and CA Aditya Dhanuka as the Treasurer, as well as other office bearers.

As part of ICAI’s continuing education program, a session on Private Equity was held by CA Pankaj Mundra, the founder and managing partner of Nimai Emerging Financial Services Fund, who traveled all the way from Dubai to address the members. CA Pankaj explained various aspects of Private equity and its growing importance as a tool of financing, for both start ups as well as established companies exploring new markets. The session was well received by the audience of over 90 members and the event concluded with Vote of Thanks by the Secretary CA Deepak Bindal.
