Indian Educational School (IES), Kuwait welcomed the new academic year 2019-20 on 1 April as students entered the school with much hope and aspiration after a short but rejuvenating winter break.

All the corridors and the classrooms were festooned with balloons and streamers and the bulletin boards were emblazoned with quotes on the theme ‘Tolerance’ and brilliantly-colored flowers.

The students were accorded a grand welcome by the School Student Council with a morning assembly acknowledging the significance of the red-letter day. Escorted by Suresh V. Balakrishnan, the Vice Principal of the middle and senior wings, Lalitha Premkumar, the Vice Principal of KG and primary wings and Meenakshi Nayyar, the Vice Principal CCA, T. Premkumar, the Principal, cut the ribbon and inaugurated the new stage set up for the open assembly. After the lighting of the auspicious lamp, the principal addressed the students with words of motivation. He urged the young Bhavanites to look up to the stars as they were born to nest in the galaxies of excellence. He persuaded them to be disciplined, methodical, obedient and loving.

The first day of the new session had a handful of surprises awaiting the children in the form of entertainment with multifarious activities, fun-filled games, peppy dance numbers and popular songs all taken care of by the enthusiastic coordinators and the affable teachers.
