Indian Learners Own Academy (ILOA) in coordination with the Indiannica Learning Private Limited conducted a one-day workshop on English Language Teaching on 19 October 2019 at the school premises. The resource person for the workshop was Mr. Rajeevan Karal, who is an accomplished and highly experienced teacher trainer with over 30 years of experience in teaching English. Forty-four teachers from 13 different schools in Kuwait participated in the workshop which covered the key elements of reading to very early learners and also dealt with the formal and functional elements of grammar.
The workshop stressed on the importance of edifying reading to the beginners followed by the teaching of formal and functional grammar through various interactive sessions. According to him, in the present scenario where we have digi-kids or 21st century learners, the teacher has to play the role of a facilitator by paving the way to the use of digital technology. The workshop concluded with the valuable feedback from the teachers and the distribution of certificates. The teachers expressed their gratitude to Mrs. Asha Sharma, the Principal of ILOA for hosting this event.
