Indian educationist honored in British Parliament

Director of Salmiya Indian Model School, Dr. Anis Ahmed has been honored and awarded the ‘Excellence in School Education Award 2019’, in the British Parliament for his valuable contributions in the field of education.

The award, which was organized in the Churchill Room of the British Parliament on 20 November by the Intelligent Mind Trust of India, acknowledges the educational services of Dr. Ahmed, especially in the empowerment of teachers. These services were also internationally recognized by Indian education authorities and by the British council.

Among the dignitaries present during the award ceremony were, Lord Dobe from the House of Lords, Baroness Thornton, Labour and Co-operative member of the House of Lords, Seema Malhotra British Labour and Co-operative Party politician and former MP from Feltham and Heston. Spiritual Guru Gaur Gopal Das, Sanyam Bhardwa, the examination controller at CBSE, New Delhi, and Rajesh Bajaj, the trustee of Intelligent Mind Trust.

Dr. Ahmad has a vast experience of 36 years in education and has worked in different organizations under the government, semi government and private sectors. Though he has been in Kuwait for the past 20 years, he also runs a charitable school for poor people in his village in India.
