Indian Frontliners (IFL), a leading socio-cultural organization in Kuwait, organized a ‘Cancer Awareness Program’ on 30 November at Hotel Vasantha Bhavan in Mahboula.

Keynote speaker at the event was Pravasi Bharatiya Divas awardee and eminent oncologist at the Kuwait Cancer Control Center, Dr. Susovana Sujit Nair. Through an audio-visual presentation, Dr. Susovanna explained to the audience about the incidence and likely causes of cancer in Kuwait.

She highlighted some of the general symptoms of various types of cancer and emphasized the importance of regular checkups. She also stressed the need to bring about lifestyle changes in order to prevent cancer and shared her insights on how cancer does not have to be a catastrophe as early detection increases the chance of getting cured.

At the end of the presentation, IFL President Ananthi Natarajan and former President A.N. Natarajan honored Dr. Susovanna. On the occasion, IFL also honored the Chairman of TVS Hyder Group, Dr. Hythar Ali, on receiving the ‘Life-Time Achievement Award’ from World Tamil Organization (UK) at the House of Commons in London.

Other dignitaries honored by IFL on the occasion included the General Manager and Managing Partner of Kuwait Swedish Cleaning Services, Dr. Asad Khan, who was honored for receiving an Honorary Doctorate from the United Nation University of Global Peace, USA and for being awarded by the Humanity First Foundation; the Country Manager of Air India, Harjeet Sawhney, and IFL team members, Arumugam and Priya Ambalavanan, who are relocating from Kuwait, for their support and dedicated community service.

The evening’s event was compeered by IFL members Rajalakshmi and supported by Madhulika Mohata, Rathichitra Muralidharan, Premika, and Vijayapriya Ramanan; while the entire event was organized and  coordinated by a team comprising IFL members, Hari,  Lakshman,  Mathi, Subbu, Durai, Alavudeen, Nagu and N.C. Mohandoss.The event concluded with the audience enjoying a sumptuous Vasantha Bhavan dinner.
