Inspection campaign nets labor law violators

The Joint Committee formed by the Council of Ministers launched an expanded inspection campaign on cafés in Hawally region to eliminate certain ‘negative phenomena’, believed to be growing in the area.

The inspectors arrested a large number of labor law violators, many of whom were domestic helpers who had been reported absconding by their sponsors. Female domestic helpers were also arrested from cafes that were licensed to provide services to men only.

During the campaign the inspectors also issued citations to a number of café owners and warned that if the violations are not corrected before re-inspection, necessary legal action would be taken against them.
