The committee formed by the Council of Ministers has intensified its campaigns to monitor the commitment of workers and customers to wearing masks and gloves, as part of coronavirus preventative measures, as they go about their daily interactions in commercial complexes and shops in commercial centers, Al-Qabas daily reported. The purpose of the committee is to follow up on the implementation of health requirements to combat the spread of COVID-19
During the fourth stage of the plan for the return of normal life, the committee registered more than two thousand violations in all six governorates. The daily said, quoting informed sources, that the business owners will be held responsible for not wearing masks, as a violation against the law.
If an employee does not wear a mask or gloves, a citation is issued against him for the violation. Employees and customers not adhering to the coronavirus preventative measures will lead to the store shutting down completely. The violation of the customer or the owner of the facility ignoring the mask-wearing rule invites a penalty of KD 100 fine.
The sources revealed that the Farwaniya committee headed by Eng. Fahad Al-Muwaisari recorded 350 violations for non-compliance with health requirements, particularly failing to wear masks by shop owners. Approximately 20 violations were recorded in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate, 15 in Jahra and 10 in Hawally.
Regarding violations of not wearing masks outside commercial centers or in public places, the sources affirmed that the fine for such a violation is KD 100. They added that judicial officers affiliated to the Ministry of Commerce, Kuwait Municipality, Public Authority for Industry and Public Authority for Manpower, with the support of teams from the Ministry of Health, can register such violations against individuals in places where they are found to be ignoring the rule.
