His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Monday commended Kuwait National Guard (KNG) for their dedication, faithfulness and patriotism.

Addressing officers at KNG Presidency Headquarters, His Highness the Amir paid tribute to KNG personnel for helping citizens during the floods that struck Kuwait last year.

His Highness the Amir, accompanied by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al- Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, said KNG has always been an important entity within the security and defense structure of the country.

He praised KNG President His Highness Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah and his deputy Sheikh Mishal Al- Ahmad Al-Sabah for their efforts to develop KNA through modern equipment and state-of-art training methods. His Highness the Amir said regional developments required vigilance.

He was received upon arrival by His Highness Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al- Sabah and KNG Undersecretary General Hashem Al-Rifae.

Al-Rifae congratulated His Highness the Amir for receiving a certificate of appreciation from the World Bank for his role in supporting regional and international economic and social development, as well as peace.

He said KNG leadership has been exerting efforts to develop the military and security aspects of the forces. Al-Rifae said KNG was supporting Kuwait Army, the Interior Ministry and the Directorate General of Fire Services in their military and security missions.

KNG, he added, was protecting vital facilities and infrastructure. He said KNG played a major role during the 2018 floods, and the institution was successfully implementing its strategy to establish a helicopter force to participate in transport of forces, search and rescue, and medical evacuation.

Al-Rifae said KNG joined the International Association of Gendarmeries and Police Forces with Military Status (FIEP), and established 25 stations for the monitoring of chemical and radioactive pollution.

KNG has been active in social responsibility field, said Al-Rifae, providing training for first aid, prevention, rescue, nutrition, car repairs and electricity appliances for the youth in age group 18-35 years old.

His Highness the Amir was also accompanied by First Deputy Premier and Defense Minister Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and Minister of Amiri Diwan Sheikh Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah.
