Deputy Secretary-General at the Public Authority for Anti-Corruption ‘Nazaha’, Dr. Mohammad Bu Zubair,speaking on corruption and investigation in the country, said that final reports on numerous corruption cases have been submitted to the authorities, verdicts have been implemented, and in several cases embezzled money has been refunded.

In his press statement issued on his behalf by the spokesperson for ‘Nazaha’, Bu Zubair is quoted as saying that corruption reports have risen by 50 percent after the Prime Minister stressed that all corruption reports must be submitted to Nazaha for investigation.

Since its establishment in 2016, ‘Nazaha’ has received 250 reports on corruption, of which 33 have been referred to the Public Prosecution and six to the relevant court. The statement added that the Ministers Court is also reviewing a report that was submitted to it by Nazaha.

The statement adds that remarkable progress has been achieved in combating corruption, especially since allowing government entities to take part in the fight against corruption. The statement noted that all reports on corruption include all investigated information, while ensuring that the dignity of the people and their rights were preserved.
