Constitutional Court proceedings over parliamentary rules will be part of the Kuwaiti parliament’s agenda for its next session on January 8, chief lawmaker Marzuouq AlGhanim said on Wednesday.
The second round of voting over a law dealing with early retirement and legislation on the exchange of credit information are among issues that will be addressed in the forthcoming session, AlGhanim said in a statement.
Lawmakers are also scheduled to discuss His Highness the Amir’s address to parliament, in addition to what AlGhanim said was a dearth of legislation over major issues affecting citizens. Kuwait’s constitutional court has declared some parliamentary procedures unconstitutional, prompting major debate over an overhaul of parliamentary rules.
