Kuwait won on Saturday three varied medals taking its tally up to 32 medals and ending the 14th Arab Shooting Championship in Doha at the third place. Kuwait’s shooter Ahmad AlAfasi won the gold medal in the double trap men competition, Qatari rival Hamad AlMurri won the silver medal, while AlMurri’s compatriot Masoud AlAthba got the bronze medal.
The Kuwaiti team including AlAfasi, Saad AlMutairi and Jarrah AlShawalli grabbed the silver medal in the double trap team contest while the Qatari team won the gold medal and the Omani team snatched the bronze medal.
In 10m air rifle junior mixed game, Kuwait’s team consisting of Yara AlKhalaf and Masoud AlSubaie came third and won a bronze medal, while the Omani and Qatari teams won the first and second places respectively. At the end of the tournament on Saturday, Kuwait came third with 32 medals; 13 gold, 11 silver and 8 bronze.
Qatar won the first place with 47 medals; 18 gold, 14 silver and 15 bronze. Oman was ranked second with a total of 44 medals; 13 gold, 18 silver and 13 bronze The tournament featured more than 200 athletes from 10 Arab states.
