Kuwait Food and Relief Bank signed a strategic partnership agreement with the UAE Food Bank.

Kuwait Food and Relief Bank signed a strategic partnership agreement with the UAE Food Bank in an effort to promote community responsibility and hunger eradication principles around the world.

In a statement Sunday, Kuwait food and relief bank said that the agreement stipulated cooperation in the preservation of food from waste and to deliver food to those in need both inside and outside Kuwait.

The statement noted that the deal was made, on the sidelines of a delegation visit by Kuwait Food Bank to UAE, which was also to participate in the launch of Ras Al-Khaimah Food Bank and Ajman Food Bank in the presence of officials and leaders from both sides as part of the frameworks to strengthen cooperation with food banks in the Gulf and the Islamic world.

Meanwhile, Kuwait Food Bank Deputy Chairman Mishal Al-Ansari praised the role played by UAE Food Bank in supporting the operation of food banks to reduce food waste and provide excess for human consumption to needy families in accordance with the international mechanisms and operations in charity field, especially in relation to food preservation and packaging in accordance with the requirements and standards of food hygiene and safety.

Al-Ansari pointed out that the Kuwaiti Food Bank is considered one of the first charitable bodies that applies international standards in the preservation of surplus of foods and storing them for those in need, including training volunteers to store foods according to health and safety standards.

Al-Ansari expressed pleasure to visit UAE and sign such partnership that are in line with Kuwait’s vision and the humanitarian field.

Kuwait Food and Relief Bank is working with food banks across the Islamic world to create a consortium of international banks to complement its vision and influence a world without hunger.
