Kuwait parliament speaker spearheads efforts for fruitful drafting of legislations.

National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim announced on Monday forming a panel of five MPs to coordinate with the assembly chairmanship and the parliamentary priority affairs committee for speeding up the drafting and issuing of legislations.

Speaker Al-Ghanim was speaking at Abdullah Al-Salem Hall following a meeting of the assembly bureau, including 26 MPs and heads and rapporteurs of the interim and permanent committees for examining the issue of “activating the legislative accomplishments.”

“The legislative achievements” have remained short of the aspiration, thus this issue must be tackled with broader coordination, minimum consensus among the MPs to pave way for a parliamentary government concord on the subject, he said.

Branding the meeting as fruitful, the speaker said it witnessed coordination between himself, the priorities panel and the fivemember coordination commission. Agreements were reached on at least two bills, to be examined in the February and March sessions, he said.
