Kuwaiti companies’ branches ranked first in Dubai among its GCC counterparts, a report by the Department of Economic Development (DED) here said Wednesday.

Kuwaiti businesses led the influx to the economy-friendly emirate, accounting to 63.3 percent of the total branches of GCC companies, followed by Saudi Arabian companies at 23.3 percent and Bahraini companies at 19.1 percent, the report, issued by the Business Registration and Licensing, noted.

It further said that out of 833 GCC companies operating in Dubai, 520 are Kuwaiti since the end of 2018.

In terms of distribution of economic activities among GCC companies, restaurants came first followed by perfumes and cosmetics, shoes, handbags and leather products and watches.
