Up to 1,019 people were diagnosed with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Kuwait over the past 24 hours, bringing the tally of the cases to 611,820, the Ministry of Health declared on Saturday. The ministry spokesperson Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said in a statement to KUNA that the medical authorities recorded 3,506 new recovery cases, with the whole count of those cured from the infection amounting to 588,084. He pointed out that proportion of the whole count of the healed from among the overall infections reached 96.1 percent. One death with the COVID-19 infection was registered, raising the death toll to 2,528, he said, adding that the number of the patients treated at intensive care units reached 85. Number of the hospitalized cases amounted to 21,208, meanwhile 343 patients were reported in the COVID-19 wards, he added. The ministry further reported 20,111 fresh swab tests, putting the whole number of the examinations at 7,446,560, Al-Sanad concluded.
