Kuwait on Wednesday said the elimination of nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction is inextricably linked to regional peace and stability. All countries in the region “should commit to a treaty designed to stop the spread of nuclear weapons,” signed back in 2010, said Abdulaziz Al-Khubaizi, the second secretary of Kuwait’s permanent delegation to the Cairo-based Arab League.

Kuwait is ready to host forthcoming talks in New York to shine light on the significance of the matter, added the diplomat, calling for compliance across the board to the global nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
