The Ministry of Social Affairs plans to launch an urgent donation campaign on Tuesday, May 18 at 10 am to raise funds for sending Covid relief to India, Al Jarida reported.

The sources told the daily that the official letter received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs included a proposal to launch a campaign to collect donations with the participation of all well-known charitable institutions and organizations.

The Ministry of Social Affairs, represented by the Department of Charitable Societies and Charities, and in coordination with the charitable bodies has set 18th May to be the date for the launch of the donation campaign.

The campaign would be organized at the community development center hall in Yarmouk.

Kuwait is keen to alleviate the suffering of the Indian people due to this health disaster afflicted upon them.

This Cabinet’s decision came after a meeting held on April 26th, regarding sending urgent medical and relief aid to India in solidarity with its friendly people, given the exceptional circumstances they are going through as a result of the spread of the new mutated strain of the Coronavirus.
