A Kuwaiti ministerial delegation has visited Singapore to benefit from the country’s experience in environmental-friendly disposal of waste. The visit was upon an invitation from Singapore’s Minister for the Environment and Water Resources Masagos Zulkifli, the Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development, said in a statement on Monday. The delegation included Minister of Oil and Minister of Electricity and Water Khaled Al-Fadhel, Minister of State for Economic Affairs Mariam Al-Aqeel, Director General of the Environment Public Authority (EPA) Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity and Water Mohammad Boushehri.

During the meeting, ministers Al-Fadhel and Al-Aqeel noted the importance of the visit in learning methods of waste management and recycling, in order to protect the environment. On his part, EPA Director General Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah stressed the need to bring awareness to the Kuwaiti society on limiting water consumption, especially that Kuwait suffers lack of water resources.
