The Gulf Cooperation Council joint power grid will offer the necessary expertise for similar adoption on a wider scale in the Arab region, a Kuwait official said on Monday. The plans will be discussed amongst Arab ministers, Kuwait Ministry of Electricity and Water Undersecretary Mohammad Bushehri said ahead of electricity ministerial talks in Egypt.

On this, he urged the need for an “execution plan of this strategy.” Kuwait already has 10 years of operational experience in the joint initiative, which it aims to export to fellow Arab countries, he said. Currently, the Gulf country is discussing plans to link Iraq to the GCC grid, he mentioned.
