A Kuwaiti man wanted in several cases and who had a travel ban against him was arrested by security personnel as he attempted to cross the border by hiding on the floor of a vehicle.
Customs and police officials manning the Nuwaiseeb border post leading to Saudi Arabia stopped a vehicle for a routine check. But when they approached the vehicle, the nervous look on the face of two women seated in the back seat, raised the suspicion of the officers and they asked the two to alight from the vehicle. This is when they found the man on the floor of the car hiding behind the abaya of the two women who were identified as his sisters.
The driver of the vehicle, apparently a relative, along with the two women were detained and interrogated for attempting to assist a ‘criminal’ to illegally leave the country. The man wanted by the law along with his accomplices were subsequently arrested and referred to the concerned authorities for further action.
