Head of Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Cultural Foundation, Abdulaziz Al-Babtain, stated in a speech that The State of Kuwait and its people are closely following the peace vision and guidelines set by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

The speech was made on Thursday at the international peace forum held in The Hague, the Netherlands. He also stressed the importance of the event in building and safeguarding the culture of peace for future generations. The foundation had worked with UN General Assembly in two of its sessions to reinforce the cultures of peace and justice, affirmed Al-Babtain who indicated that the current forum was one of the outcomes of such collaboration.

He added that a model curriculum was presented by the foundation during its UN General Assembly, indicating that international experts and committees had work on it to promote peace and counter extremism. Al-Babtain said that world peace and social cohesion were under the threat of war and destruction.

During the events of the forum, sessions will be held to encourage the culture of peace, said AlBabtain, revealing that the event will also touch on protecting cultural traditions in Iraq and Yemen. He went on to say that, the forum would touch on promoting the culture of peace in the Central African Republic after civil peace was threatened due to the occurrence of great violations.

Whether holding an event in 2008 under the Kuwaiti leadership’s auspices to promote peace or contributing to spreading this noble notion via various events, Al-Babtain foundation will continue to pursue such higher goals, he affirmed, hoping that world countries and organizations would come up with initiatives and curriculums bolstering peace and love around the globe.
