Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development (SCPD) Dr. Khaled Mahdi said on Sunday that he is eager to improve the lives of people with disabilities within Kuwait’s 2035 Vision by encouraging a national strategy in this field. Dr. Mahdi was speaking at a press conference to present results of the fifth-generation training program of improving lives of people with disabilities, in which the program aims to serve Kuwait’s development plan.

Kuwait’s policy for people with disabilities is based on the integration of them in society, all aspects of life, within the components of the national economy and education, Dr. Mahdi explained. He commended the efforts of Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) and Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) in supporting disabled people.

Meanwhile, Assistant Secretary General for Financial and Administrative Affairs at the General Secretariat of SCPD Iman Al-Mutairi said during the conference that the Secretariat benefits from such conferences to prepare development plans of targeted public policies. For his part, the representative of KFAS Mai Al-Essa said at the conference that people with disabilities are important groups in the society and the Foundation is keen to support all groups. Accordingly, representative of KFAED Talal Al-Sultan said that the Fund did not hesitate for a moment to serve Kuwait and its citizens in cooperating with many stakeholders.
