His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s plan represented in ‘Kuwait’s vision 2035’ is the main launch of development, Abdulaziz AlRashidi, head of the planning department at the Ministry of Information, said on Sunday.

Al-Rashidi made the statement to KUNA on the sidelines of the Kuwaiti delegation’s participation in the third edition of the Arab Sustainable Development Week held in Egypt. Kuwait’s vision 2035 looks forward to ensuring a high standard of living for the Kuwaiti citizens and future generations, he added. The vision aims to move to a sustainable economy with varied sources of national income in order to achieve the country’s interests and the welfare of the citizens, he noted.

The move will be achieved through attracting foreign investments and creative minds, meeting the requirements of the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030, he said. He stressed the key role of media in backing efforts, plans and projects of sustainable development. He pointed out that the ministry’s staff, topped with Minister of Information Mohammad Al-Jabri, believe in the development efforts.

He said that the ministry, through various specialized committees and teams, supports, follows up and evaluates development projects and plans in coordination and cooperation with all parties and institutions concerned with development schemes and plans at all local, regional and international levels. This step seeks to achieve Kuwait’s vision 2035 in particular and the goals of the sustainable development in general, he stated.
