Kuwait’s ambassador to Qatar Hafeeth Al­-Ajmi said that Kuwaiti parliamentary positions in international forums are consistent with Kuwait foreign policy under the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al­-Ahmad Al-­Jaber Al­-Sabah.

Al-Ajmi made his remarks to KUNA on Wednesday at the conclusion of the 140th IPU conference, adding that the active participation of Kuwaiti Parliament Speaker Marzouq Ali AlGhanim shed light on the importance of the world parliaments in addressing all the issues and crises faced by humanity.

He pointed out to Al­Ghanim speech, which condemned all forms of terrorism in the world, “Zionist entity’s” practices against the Palestinian people, and rejected the recent unilateral American declaration to recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the occupied Golan.

He stressed on the importance of the results of the committees’ meetings at the conference, in which the members of the Parliamentary Division participated and presented working papers explaining the views of the National Assembly on the issues discussed ­­ notably education, human rights, promotion of international peace and security and women empowerment.

He also referred to the results of the meetings held by the National Assembly delegation with Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, who discussed the historic brotherly relations between the two countries, and the latest developments in the region.
