The Public Relations Department of Kuwait Municipality announced via a press release that the number of complaints received through the hotline “139” of the emergency department of the Public Services Department reached 729 complaints during the month of July.
Most of these calls dealt with problems related to hygiene (complaints of the presence of garbage waste), requests for garbage bins, used furniture waste, obstruction complaints, selling of foodstuff, etc., dead animals and random ads in the streets and public squares, which create a public nuisance.
For his part, the Superintendent of Transport and Emergency at the Public Services Department Abdul Salam Al-Kandari stated that the most complaints received were from the Farwaniya Governorate at 172 , followed by Ahmadi Governorate with 152 complaints, and the Jahra Governorate came in third place.
Al-Kandari added that all complaints received via the hotline ‘139’ from the emergency department of the services department are processed and followed up by the staff after being addressed to the competent authorities in the municipalities of the governorates.
He pointed out that the development and the upgrading of the quality of its services is an implementation of the directives from the top management in the municipality in order to serve the public and increase communication in the endeavor of maintaining, and preventing any negative manifestations in the country.
He pointed out that the hotline service is the link between the Municipality and the public which offers assistance in areas that fall within their jurisdiction.
