Kuwait Municipality has refuted plans for levying a fine of KD5,000 (US$16,000) on unlicensed car parking shades belonging to nationals or residents. Regulations for parking do not include this sum as a fine, Deputy Director General of the Municipality Faisal Jomaa said in a press statement on Wednesday.
He explained that there are proposals currently studied by the legal administration, in accordance with the Law of the Municipality No. 33 of 2016. The fine imposed against violators is determined by judicial bodies in line with the Municipality Law, he noted. Jomaa stressed keenness of Municipality on rights of all nationals to get easily licenses.
