The newly renovated and refurbished Central Operations Control Room at the General Administration of Traffic building was officially launched by the Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior Lieutenant General Essam Al-Naham.

During an inspection of the facilities, Lieutenant General Al-Naham was briefed on the mechanism of work in monitoring the road networks and traffic flow on the main road and intersections, as well as the mechanism of recording traffic violations through monitoring of speed cameras.

He also undertook an inspection of various departments at the General Traffic Directorate, including the departments of traffic violations, vehicle and driving licenses sections. Following the inspection tour, he urged traffic cops to intensify their presence on roads to combat any violation of traffic law.

Lieutenant General Al-Naham, also told traffic personnel to stand firm against any action by motorists that would endanger other motorists and pedestrians. In addition, he stressed that the place of the traffic police is on the road to assist drivers, especially during peak traffic hours, to ensure smooth traffic flow, and also to prevent reckless driving.
