The Minister of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) Dr. Abdullah Al-Salman revealed that the decision to amend the ministerial resolution which prohibits the issuance of a work permit for those who are 60-years-old or older with high school diplomas has not been issued yet, Al Jarida reported.

The ministry is still in the process of carefully studying all aspects of the matter to reach the most lucrative decision in the interest of the state as well as business owners.

Al-Salman explained to the daily that the amendments will include imposing fixed fees for the renewal of residence permits.

Thousands of expatriate workers covered by the decision are awaiting the amendments to be added to its clauses, as it will allow them to renew their residency according to specific rules and regulations.
