Deputy Chief of Mission at the United States Embassy in Kuwait Larry Memmott expressed his concern at the recent developments in the region with regard to the Iranian position but clarified that he did not believe there was going to be a war.
Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the Ramadan Gabka held at his residence, Memmott reiterated the US position that Iranians should not intervene in other countries and destabilise the region, pointing out that Ramadan was the season of peace and it was important for the region to have peace.
During his first Ramadan in Kuwait Memmott expressed how glad he was to be in Kuwait, where people opened their houses to welcome guests. It was truly a wonderful tradition unseen in many other countries. The US embassy also had a Diwaniya tent in keeping with the tradition and also welcoming visitors.
