The online platform to register for the safe return of domestic workers starts today, Monday, as part of the official procedures to organize the return of domestic workers to Kuwait.

Al-Anba daily said, quoting official sources that the National Aviation Services Company (NAS) has finalized all the procedures for the launch of the online platform at 3 pm today, and according to the program, the first flight carrying domestic workers from India is expected on the 14th of this month

The platform streamlines the process of return by outlining 5 steps; the first being the sponsor provides details including the name of the domestic worker and the civil id number, enters the travel day and the country from which the worker is coming from, and pays the fees. The fees set by the Council of Ministers amounted to KD270, but the airfare costs varies from one country to another, being  KD110 for those traveling from India, KD145 from Ceylon, Bangladesh and Nepal, and KD220 for domestic workers from the Philippines, stated sources to the daily

The travel arrangements will take 4 months, during which 80,000 travelers will arrive in Kuwait, at an estimate of only 600 travelers per day. Under health regulations, they are to be institutionalized for 14 days at quarantine housing and are to be provided services in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry Health, including transportation, housing in separate residential buildings, and three meals, in addition to avail of cleaning services, security and guarding, and all public services.

In addition, those in charge of organizing and coordinating the plan for the return of domestic workers are permitting the sponsor to choose the travel route of his domestic worker, whether direct flight to Kuwait or choose an intermediary country (transit). The cost is reduced from KD550 to KD270 per person to provide economically competitive prices and ensure direct travel arrangements of domestic workers to Kuwait.

58 residential buildings have been allocated for quarantine that offers all public services regarding quarantine, with private housing for women and private housing for men, including separate housing for different nationalities.
