Plan in works to end visa trading

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh said details of the plan for the end of the phenomenon of residency visa dealers will be presented in the next meeting of the Council of Ministers, and is a complete presentation of all developments in this regard, reported Al Rai daily.

Al-Saleh added in the press conference that was held on Monday, through a video conference in Al-Seef Palace following a meeting of the Council of Ministers, that the team including a number of representatives of government agencies, who are currently considering introducing legislative amendments to the National Assembly to end visa trading phenomenon.

He stated that the legislative amendments aim to stop residency visa dealers, and reiterated the team’s intention to move forward in this direction. He explained that the details in the file include all developments in the residency visa trade, confronting and combating it, and dealing with the remaining residency violators who are currently in the accommodation centers and will leave the country.

In response to a question about the situation in the country after the end of the decision to implement a comprehensive curfew, Al-Saleh clarified that the cabinet is still continuing its program towards the end of full curfew at the end of this month of May, and returning to normal life gradually.

In response to a question about the impact of the full curfew on the number of coronavirus cases, Al-Saleh responded, “Health officials feel reassured that the general situation is under control, and that the full curfew has contributed to curbing the increase in numbers.”

“Most of the infection figures are expected, according to the health authorities,” he said, expressing hope that a full curfew, then a partial curfew and a return to life will gradually contribute to a steadily declining number of coronavirus infection cases.
