A  comprehensive vaccination campaign to vaccinate approximately 4,000 inmates of the Central Prison, the Public Prison and the Women’s Prison was launched this morning under the supervision of the Correctional Institutions and Sentencing Sector, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Al Jarida daily reported.

Inmates who are likely to have medical complications from the vaccination will be excluded based on their medical reports issued by the prison hospital administration.

The source added that this campaign will be the largest since the start of the vaccination campaigns, pointing out that Kuwait is one of the first countries that decided to vaccinate all inmates as a first stage, pointing out that the vaccination process will also include inmates of the deportation prison in the coming days, and detainees in the General Administration prison.

He explained that the General Administration of Correctional Institutions had coordinated with the Ministry of Health several weeks ago in the lead up to the vaccination process to note down all inmates who are eligible to take the vaccination, pointing out that the Ministry of Health had prepared special medical teams to start the vaccination from this morning.
